Question
What is a DBA document and how is it used?
Answer
- A DBA (Doing Business As) document allows a business to do business under a different name than their legal entity name
- There is no need to notify Synapse whenever a DBA is uploaded - unless you are unsure of the validity of the document
- Since Synapse requires the legal business name on the account, a DBA, if uploaded, could be helpful in the following situation:
- There's an incoming transaction addressed to the business' fictitious name
- The transaction would queue due to name mismatch, since the name doesn't match the legal business name on the account
- Our team will check to confirm the name on the DBA matches the name on the transaction
- If the names match, the transaction would be approved and dequeued
- There's an incoming transaction addressed to the business' fictitious name
